I dont think Cotto's punch resistance has deteriorated as much as Rickys which is what stopped Ricky getting to Pacs body and imposing his size. He kept walking onto shot that his chin couldnt handle at this stage.

Cotto has taken full blooded shots from huge guys like Mosley, Margo and Clottey recently. Plus, unlike Ricky, he can fight going backwards if need be

The problem here is that younger fans can't see BOXING IS RELATIVE.
Cotto looked fast vs old Mosley but not so fast vs Quintana. Ricky Hatton looked great vs Castillo and his body punching worked, he looked silly vs Floyd and ******ly uncompetitive vs Manny. Body punching involves ALLOT of luck. Even if you have excellent body punching skills, a one body punch KO happens once in a big while. Most trainers will say stuff like "It's too late to go to the body, go to the head" in later rounds, to their fighters. I recall Freddy Roach saying that to someone i forgot who. So the chances Pacquiao succumbs to a Cotto body punch is RIDICULOUS, in fact Manny is counting on Cotto's openings when he does that. Manny is so fast he only needs a good one. He can land plenty more though. Manny is so fast he had his hand fully retracted into guard BEFORE HATTON HIT THE GROUND lol. I don't think Cotto can do anything really.
