Haye vs Thompson;
Haye fought at full speed for 4 full rounds and most of the 5th round. He started to gas and Thompson hit Haye with a flurry of punches. Haye's corner threw in the towel.
Thompson never knocked Haye out.
That was 5 years ago, when Haye was a naive fighter who thought he could finish everyone inside a few rounds.
Haye's also been the full 12 rounds before. He fought Abdoul for the EBU CW belt and won 120 - 108 on all judges cards. So he's obviously improved his stamina.
Watch his knockdown versus Mormeck;
Watch Haye. Mormeck lands a few solid shots on Haye's chin and Haye takes them.
Now, back to the knockdown. Haye slips into the corner and Mormeck proceeds to land shots on the defenseless Haye. Haye's arms on the ropes to keep him from falling to the floor.
Haye was never hurt, watch the video. He shakes his head and says ' Im OK '. Mormeck lands more shots later that round and still doesn't rock Haye or put him down again. If Haye was really hurt he wouldn't keep his left down near his side.
Then Haye destroys Mormeck;
Haye's defense has improved a lot since his fight against Mormeck, which was 2 years ago.
Just thought I'd post this because it appears that not a lot of people know the difference between a chin like Khan's or a chin like Haye has, which is far from China. As well as the fact that Haye wasn't KOed by Thompson. If anyone can find a video of Thompson's TKO on Haye, it would be appreciated. I checked Youtube and couldn't find a video.
Hate all you want, this guy was the undisputed champion of the cruiserweight division. He gave up that title to come and fight at HW.
