Angulo did look sick to me, I remember thinking that he'd probably beat Cintron in a rematch, but even while sick, he was supposed to beat someone Cintron level that was tailor made for him. He'll be solid, but not the next big thing.lol Nah, I believe them sayin Angulo was sick though. Countless people said that Angulo couldn't even eat after the weigh-in's. When I'm talkin about ass prospects, I ain't talkin about Angulo. For only bein able to throw 2 punches at a time for that fight, Alfredo did alright, especially later in the fight. As weak and slow as he was, he had the intelligence to stay on his feet and preserve his energy when he had to. That's just ****in smart and a good sign. He wasn't like Ortiz who had no answers for anything that happened in the ring.
But Ortiz, I remember Raul Martinez fightin like he was scared ****less while throwin girly reaching punches against Donaire, those two guys stick out more than anyone. As for Antillon, I still need to see the fight. I know Antillon's a hard worker, but he did look pretty bad at the end of the Harris fight. He looked gassed and beat up. I thought it was just one of those nights for him, but it might be a testament to his lack of D.
Martinez was frozen, but he started trying harder after the first couple kd's. Donaire is special, especially at 112 that guy is just 1 or 2 levels above. Better comp than the rest of the prospects lost to.
The thing that Angulo, Antillon, and Ortiz all have in common is that they don't jab so they get countered when they try to come in.Comment

Nah, Angulo couldn't even move his head fast enough to beat Cintron. Cintron's reach and size was killin Angulo. Cintron just had to push his gloves out and he was able to tag, and stop Angulo from getting in. But he started to get closer later in the fight. The fact Angulo was even able to identify his moments that late in the fight won't let me write him off just yet.Angulo did look sick to me, I remember thinking that he'd probably beat Cintron in a rematch, but even while sick, he was supposed to beat someone Cintron level that was tailor made for him. And Martinez was all nervous energy, he just ****in squared up, put his gloves up, and still got caught on the chin lmao. That was ******est thing I ever seen. A lot of those knock downs looked like Martinez was all nervous energy to me, he doesn't even fight like that. He looked like he had stage fright or some ****, he's usually on his toes and moving, looking explosive. But in that fight he just stood there and waited for Donaire to hit him, but yeah...he eventually started throwin punches, but they were some Vic Darchynian lookin punches...
But yeah, Antillon has all the heart and drive any fighter needs. Fighters like him and Escalante are refreshing to see, especially now. Guys who you can just tell that will continue to make improvements. lol Seem's like everyone's quitting and running away from the sport nowadays. But I think we'll just have to wait a little longer for Antillon to get to the top. I'm readin about the fight and it sounded like he gassed himself. Anyways, I think we'll be talkin about him again a year or so from now.Comment

I still think Angulo could improve on the first outing, Cintron has improved with Shields, but that sickness limited Angulo from throwing punches and not only were they slower but weaker too. Cintron wilts under pressure and that's AA's specialty, he was tailor made for him.Nah, Angulo couldn't even move his head fast enough to beat Cintron. Cintron's reach and size was killin Angulo. Donaire lost to a top 10 P4Per, Cintron and Maidana were barely top 10 in their division and Acosta although solid was unknown and wasn't even ranked. Martinez shouldn't be given up on, if he faced the type of opp. the others did, he might have gone through it. He was impressive against Proa.
Escalante disappointed me against Pastrana, he was dominating that fight and got stopped out of nowhere, but he's comeback and looked miles better; especially in stamin and chin, maybe, it'll be the same for the others.
All these fighters need to learn how to pick off punches better and how to jab their way in. They got the foundation since they've gotten so far with their deficiencies, so it's only a matter of tightening up the technique, adding wrinkles, or improve whatever they're missing. That's the hardest part though.Comment

He was doing pretty good but then let that running grabber get to him in the mid rounds. Then he tried to press him a little to aggressively in the 8th and 9th and got caught with an uppercut. No head movement and too much careless aggression late in the fight cost him the fight. He got up by 10 but was clearly hurt.Comment
