For those who say JMM "chickened out"

You're really making yourselves look utterly fool, folks.

Marquez was born in Mexico City, in (or near) a barrio called Tepito. That's some tough place to grow up in, I'm telling you. The guy had to fight for his life more than once, I'm sure, against figthers using knives, not gloves. Much like Morales and, to a lesser degree, Barrera (and please, it's time to stop that "priviledged kid" nonsense about MAB. Iztacalco is NOT a priviledged neighbourhood, believe me), he had to fight his way through life, both on and off the ring. You think a guy with that background would EVER be scared about ANYONE? Come. The ****. On.

Those guys simply have no fear whatsoever. Not in the ring, anyway. When you've had it as bad as they had it growing up, just trying not to get killed by one of those gang boys, I think whatever the ring has to offer is ok for you.

I hope you understand that calling JMM a chicken is laughable and downright disrespectful. Show some class.

I think JMM was just trying to take advantage of his rise in stature after surviving Manny to the DRAW...he is human and wanted more money...

I just wish some fighters such as himself realize that they may have to take the short end because they are not the big draw...

just like Judah took the short end knowing he was fighting for Spinks' title, moving up, lost the first fight, and in Spinks' hometown...

I think the way many look at it is that is JMM was confident in beating Manny, he would have taken the money...

but JMM a coward? I think not

If he werent a coward he would face Manny again. Dn't give me that grew up in tuff hood crap. I know alot of ppl that grew up poor but still know there are ppl out there that can kick they're ass so they don't pick fights with them. Man JMM was luck to get a draw and doesnt want to risk being destroyed in the ring so he ducked him. Just admit it and qut making excuses for the lil umbrey

It's simple: Unless it's for more than a million dollar why would you fight a guy who knocked you down 3 times in 1 round?

Marquez needs the rematch more than Pacman does. He was floored 3 times and now he had the chance to get even then he did not grab the opportunity. Why do you think Marquez does not want to fight the best like Barrera, Pacman and Morales...You be the judge? If he is really a warrior he should fight these Men!

Some people say he chickened out. One columnist even went to the extent of saying he didn't have "huevos"! But I think these are mere emotional outbursts than anything else.

Simply "HE PRICED HIMSELF OUT" is the most accurate way of putting it. He asked way more than he's actually worth in terms of marketability. He should have realized that he's no MAB, Morales or Pacman as far as fan base is concerned.

Fredie Roach in an interview told a reporter that Marquez piced himself out and perhaps he does not want to fight!

That's kind of suprising, it looked like he had Pac Man figuered out as the fight went on. Obviously it wouldn't be easy, but he should know what to do if they meet again. A victory over Pac would certainly boost his stature. As it stands now, Pac's stock may go down after loosing to Morales. I'm not trying to provoke all the Pac fans, I just don't see him winning that one.

JMM should have taken the rematch when he had the chance.

I got your point but the question is Will Marquez fight Pacman again?
