I don't want to believe it.. but it's true. he's not the same fighter mentaly.

Pac imo beats Cotto because he's quicker, very healthy at that kind of weight, he moves around extremely quickly, has one of the best trainers in the world, the best tactically imo.

Cotto loses because he's already shown he's open to persistent upper cuts and just leans in to them, from slower less accurate guys. So how is he going to suddenly avoid them from Pac whom is far quicker, more accurate, and moving around?

The whole Cotto is big and strong thing is weak, so was Hatton supposedly, and what happened there?
Skillwise, Cotto is far better than Hatton...

There isn't really a very big size difference and Cotto is pretty easy to hit. I know they've been separated by weight which is how boxing chooses to draw the line, but in terms of height and reach (reach is ultimately the key unless the weight advantage is huge, like welterweight to light heavy or something like that) they are almost exactly the same size. I'm not saying Cotto can't win, but Manny is going to be so much quicker than him and will still hit with some power.

Cotto will rehydrate to 155ish, sure, and Manny will probably come in at 144 and rehydrate to 147 or something like that, but if Manny moves and doesn't get pressed on then the weight is irrelevant and they are the same size.

Good post. Finally a post that promotes Pacquiao without simultaneously hating on Cotto. I don't agree with it, but I like it.

I'm not sure who I think will win, but it's quite obvious why Pac could win, it's the same reason he has gotten to where he is. Manny is very fast and has the power to match. He has gone 24 rounds with the best boxer and counter puncher in the game successfully, so Cotto's boxing ability won't be anything better than he has seen before.

If Cotto thinks he is going to outbox Manny Pacquiao, he is in for a night of punishment. The only reason Cotto is not a big underdog going into this fight is uncertainty about Pac at 145 and how he will take a punch.

So can we consider an upset if Cotto beat Pacquiao?... I don't think so...

Cotto is big, strong, and has been tested with big guys.. I am not saying Manny has no chance but for me, Manny is a big underdog...

I think people who are making Pacquiao favorite is overrating him.....
There are still lingering doubts about Cotto. I will be the first to admit that even though I am a Cotto fan, I can not deny that my confidence in him has been a bit shakin. If he had a bad night against Clottey, then Manny will be in a for a tougher fight than he expected. Teddy Atlas has made some valid points but the truth is, none of us know what is going on inside Cotto's head. My biggest question about all of this is, what if the ring had not been as slippery as ice for Clottey becaue I saw Clottey trying to get off but his feet were slipping from under him and he was unable to effectively throw and land precision shots. Is Teddy right when he says that if Clottey would have been able to put on more pressure, Cotto would have folded? We will never know because it did not happen. I wanted to see it but the ring was too slippery. I wanted to see if Cotto could have handled the pressure. As fans, we were left with our own theories and our own speculations and we have come up with our conclunsions based on both fighters last performances. I am still having a hard time picking a winner for this up coming bout between Cotto and Pacquiao. I have flipped flopped about it in my mind many a times and I will most likely continue doing so until Nov.

Cotto in comparable to Pac is way slower. He is more conservative bell to bell VS Pacquiao is explosive bell to bell. Cotto has to hit you over and over to break you down. and I dont see him getting the chance to do that when he is steady getting tagged... Pacquiaos body shots are going to be a underrated factor to Cottos body as well. All inall going to be real good fight. Style wise Pacquiao wins it

Pac is a better fighter than Cotto and has been on a roll. Cotto hasn't looked as strong as he once did lately. But fact is despite that, Pac ain't a WW, and Cotto is too strong for him imo.

                      Obviously.

But the point I was making is that the whole, he's bigger and more powerful thing has been shaken up to be less than straight forward lately.

There's not a huge size difference, and it's speed that kills.
