This first fight was pretty bad though. Nazario just ran around trying to survive. Don't understand why Velasquez didn't step back jab then throw the right instead of getting in awkward situations letting the other guy close in and hold.

Yup, El Paso and Juarez are next to each other and I think Velasquez was just going for the KO. When he realized he couldn't get it he just set up Nazario to clinch for th point deduction.
