  • Latin Fury Full Weights: Sam Peter in Great Shape

Former WBC heavyweight champion Sam Peter has changed his outlook and appears to be serious about turning his career around. Peter took the scales and weighed in at 243-pounds for his fight against Marcus McGee on Saturday's undercard to Latin Fury 10 in Mexico. The last time Peter weighed 243-pounds was in 2005 when he lost a spirited twelve round decision to Wladimir Klitschko. He weighed 265-pounds for his decision loss to Eddie Chambers in March, and for the last few years his weight has been averaged in the range of 255. The fight will be Peter's first since signing a deal with Top Rank. [details]

That weight is still too high in my opinion. It matters little anyway, Peter will just be a gateway keeper for the new heavyweights over the next few years.

When was the last time he weighed 200 or less? When he came out of the womb?

I was thinkin the same thing. WTF does Arum expect to get outta him? Peter is just a journeyman now. His juggernautic rep is long gone. He been hangin out wit Tua, Toney, and Arreola a bit too much.

243 is the lowest he's been in almost 5 years...it's a start but let's see how motivated he is.too early to tell.he's in shape physically but how about mentally?

M-m-m... I don`t really believe Sam is capable of turning his career around...

But, we have to wait and see...

Maybe one day we will hear again: "Who`s Nesh?"
