        Short history of Cleto Reyes.

"Cleto Reyes was born after the tumult of the Mexican Revolution and at age 12, went to work in a saddlery to help out his family. Shortly after began his love affair with the sport of boxing. In 1938, he won his first boxing match, a fight so amazing that spectators tossed money into the ring. Because of the damage he sustained during this fight, Reyes was discouraged for fighting again, but he was determined to preserve the memory by mending the gloves used in the bout. Thus began his long career as a glove-maker and boxing equipment giant. In 1945, Cleto Reyes gloves were endorsed for professional use in Mexican boxing and this small family business has gone on to sell their finely-crafted equipment worldwide."

People wonder why Mexicans have great chins, I'm convinced it's because if Cleto Reyes gloves. After being hit with those things and then getting hit with let's say, Everlast gloves, you feel like you are getting hit with pillows...hehe

Coo...I found this bio on Wikipedia :

"The boxer Francisc Vaştag (Hungarian: Vastag Ferenc, born November 26, 1969 in Reşiţa, Caraş-Severin) was the first Romanian to win the supreme belt in his category. His victory greatly stimulated boxing in Romania. The champion boxer Adrian Diaconu has said that he considers Vaştag to be a brother and mentor."

Post more boxing history in your country if you can!
