If not there was no fight.
It's obvious De La Hoya's deal couldn't guarantee him a fight with Mayweather therefor he decided to stay with Top Rank and get a guaranteed shot at Pacquiao.
Maybe that was also talked about but I believe they also talked about playing keep away with the belt. It's no secret that ODLH is a little sour over his loss to Manny and then to have Manny come and top the 6 and be onto his 7th? It had to be weighing heavy on ODLH's mind. It's like having your homerun record broken or your most yards rushed record surpassed by another man.

as I said before.. they meet to discuss business and a future contract.
De La Hoya could not guarantee what Arum could and therefor he resigned with Top Rank.
I am being small minded? lol
I know that if I had some pull to stop a man from breaking one of my records, I would.
Who is the one being small minded?

i agree with you. how can that be ignored? we're talking about two boxers who have won the most world titles in different weight classes, in boxing HISTORY. although that became a little easier in recent times because of the many versions of belts.

Of course it had to come up. Just look at some of us on here, fighting about green K and E points which mean nothing in real life. Manny winning his 7th would be like Manny taking a gang of green from his butt. That is how serious this is. lol Not sure this was the best analogy but those of you people who live for the green k and the e points should get the picture. If you still don't get the picture, you is blind. Broaden your freakin minds sons.

I think it was to make him sign up with GBP after his contract with Top Rank expires... but what he had to offer Cotto wasn't interested.

You make a good point, but I still doubt it... if he was talking about making Cotto withdraw from negotiations I think it would be so Mosley can get a fight with Pacquiao first (more back pocket for him).

I still think it would of been about signing with him though...

haha. seeing pacman fighting at 154+ would be very interesting. if there were ever a fight for him to test waters in the true WW division this is the way to do it.

He was not asking Cotto to withdraw, what he was asking Cotto was to not put up the belt. Take the fight and if they want the belt they will have to move up and ODLH was counting on Team Pacquaio to stick to their guns about it being at 145 and so, if this was the case, Cotto could refuse to put up the belt.

Now I understand that the WBO want's to strip Cotto of the belt and Cotto will let it happen. Why would Cotto let himself be stripped rather than fight for it, if ODLH did not slip Cotto some drag queen money. Everyone knows that ODLH has a deep ass pocket and Cotto has yet to see a gaint pay check where he himself could make it rain lol and all money is good money and it's not like Cotto cant come back and take that vacant belt from another Jenning's lol

Trust me, ODLH made sure Cotto was not going to put up his belt. Yes, I also believe that Cotto and ODLH talked about working together and possibly trying to have Cotto work with and for Golden Boy Promotions but the belt issue and ODLH's record being broken by Manny had to be of some concern. This might be too deep for someone as young and inexperienced about life to comprehend. I think this occurs once your nuts drop or you get to your 30's
