It is, but I am more interested in the JMM-Mayweather fight. I'm not a Mayweather fan, but he has won his last few fights in dominating (if even lame) fashion and JMM has won his fights in exciting and dominant fashion. Cotto has needed politics to get the victories over the A (Shane Mosley) and B-level (Clottey) opponents that he has fought. And Pacquiao knows he is a wounded deer. Manny hasn't fought an elite fighter since his controversial win over JMM, and he has leaped over a bunch of good fighters to fight brand names. Mayweather has done the same, and I'm not ordering the fight for him. I'm ordering the fight to see my man JMM get in his ass, because I think he's capable of it. And he deserves the spot light that comes with it.
Both Cotto and Pacquiao are fighting each other because each of them are weaker opponents then what they are capable of fighting. If Cotto had the balls that Marquez did, he would fight Paul Williams or Shane Mosley for all the marbles instead of going after little Pac. And if Manny had any balls at all, he would fight Shane Mosley for the real Welterweight title (At least a more meaningful title than what Cotto has got) instead of getting Cotto to come into the fight as a corpse. Pacquiao is just going after money and Cotto is too. Juan Manuel Marquez is the only stand-up guy out of the four that what the thread title alludes to is the point I'm trying to make.Comment
