    Why mgm why not square garden?

    Why is the biggest fight of the year if not for a while Cotto v Pacman not on at the Mecca of Boxing... Madison Square Garden...I dont understand....someone please explain

    i believe it is due to taxes and fees in NYC as compared to Vegas..... could be wrong, but thats what i think

        Because boxing can make more money, with high rollers running around then Puerto Ricans in New York. The ticket prices can go up. Plus, it translates better onto TV.

              Pure economics. The Garden cost roughly one million to rent. MGM buys the site for the fight and houses the fighters and camps which saves a boat load of money on rooms, meals and rent. The savings would be upward of 1.5 million. As someone else also mentioned the live gate tax in NYC would also deter a promoter. Vegas wins because they get the gamblers. And believe me when I tell you that Filipino's love to gamble as well as do your typical boxing faithful high roller.

                    MGM Grand will generate more money... cause of all the Casino's and that more people will go there to bet and stuff...
