Teddy Atlas - "I Believe Miguel Cotto is Damaged Goods"

I was wondering when Teddy Atlas was going to start talking like this about Cotto. It is really tough to say, the Clottey fight was a difficult fight but Clottey let that fight slip away and Cotto was able to take advantage of that. That cut was wicked and greatly effected Cotto, so I don't really mind how he won the fight.

Cotto seems alright but he has been in a lot of tough fights. The Clottey fight was a very tough fight so mentally he seems to be alright.

Clottey stands in front of you all the time, you think Manny will do the same?

I love it when people compare two fighters in two different fights. Every fight is different, what Cotto will see in Manny will be nothing compared to what he saw in Clottey.

Manny will stick and move and use his foot speed to get him on and out. This is a tough match up for Cotto.

Slow down...Commish.


It wasn't me that tried to compare the 2 fights...It was Teddy Atlas...I just was making the point that the reason Clottey stopped throwing was because he was getting countered...

And with your argument...of course Manny won't stand in front...but Cotto has great timing with his jab...Manny shoots in from long enough where he can be countered successfully JMM proved that...

I guarantee if Manny gets caught with something big...He will half to resort to plain B...It's not JMM countering him this time...He won't be able to take to much punishment from Cotto before he starts to get badly hurt.

Hatton has horrid horrid defense you can't compare the two in that respect. Cotto is no Hatton by no means.

But cotto has faced Zab judah and Mosley both of which carry allot more power and similar speed and variety to pac assault...cotto beat both.

neither mosley, nor judah carry the same type of speed as a manny pacquiao.....
