Hopkins is putting up all four belts

Richard Schaefer, CEO of Golden Boy Promotions, said Wednesday that Bernard Hopkins will now be defending all four of his championship belts against Howard Eastman on Saturday at Staples Center.

Hopkins changed his mind, Schaefer said at Wednesday's final news conference, and has told him he will also defend his World Boxing Association, International Boxing Federation and World Boxing Organization belts.

Schaefer said negotiations were still ongoing regarding the sanctioning fees, which Hopkins would like to see reduced.

Wow, why he would do that? Economically it doesn't make any sense to all of the sudden decide to pay more sanctioning fees for a fight that has already been made.

Maybe because technically it wouldn't be his 20th defense of the IBF title.

Or maybe he got pressured into putting all of them up. I dunno.

Good point on the IBF title, I didn't think of that.

True but now Hopkins has four times the reason to put a beating of Eastman.

Not so much....after 20 defenses I would assume that you sort of take winning for granted and I think that Bernard is going into this fight ****ier than he has the others...just something to think about...
