    If Cotto beats Pac

    and JMM loses to Mayweather.

    a) Will Cotto be PFP No.1?
    b) Will Mayweather fight him at 147?

    no and no
mayweather would still be considered number one and he would not fight miguel on the basis that he has been "wobbeld" before and thus not fit to fight the great mayweather junior who is the best thing ever since sliced bread

what do you mean 'still', no one considers him No.1 right now.

      Cotto has his plaster excuse.

I say Mayweather still doesn't fight him though, scared to take a beating.

No Cotto won't be #1. He'll be in the top 4 tho. And no, Mr boat buyer won't fight him.

Maybe so. But seems like Mayweather is third wheel right now.

If Cotto beats Pac, it's bad for Mayweather.

Not scared bad, but financially, not the biggest match up.

            b) he will definitely look to fight the winner of pac/cotto providing he gets past marquez

I say no and yes. I think that if both Cotto and Floyd win it will be the biggest fight out there by a distance and therefore will most likley get made.

Why do some people think Mayweather will fight Cotto, he has never shown any leaning towards this. If anything he has actively avoided when it has been put to him.

I'm not sure who would win btw, but I feel Mayweather thinks he could be beaten (juding by his responses when asked).

Mayweather wants big money fights. If he and Cotto win it will be the biggest money fight by a distance. I think that if that happens it will come off.

You act like Mayweather has never signed for a fight he thought he might lose. That is bull****. Corrales, Castillo, De La Hoya - these are all fights he could have lost and fights that many people predicted he would lose.

                    actively avoided?

mayweather only fights when he feels the risk/reward ratio is acceptable since he's been at the top

should cotto beat pac, there's more than enough reward for him to take the fight
