because maskaev has always been chinny and never made it to that "elite" level and on top of all that he is old..i mean id rather see chris in against someone like tony thompson..ive been saying that for awhile..thompson may not be the most entertaining fighter but he has the skills and chin to test arreola..its just arreola wont really prove anything to me if he beats maskaev..opinions? thoughts?

I think Arreola ****ed up by fighting Maskaev. He gains nothing if he wins, and Maskaev is still a big puncher. If by some chance he gets caught, he could be KOd. Then he has to work his way to the top all over again.

      True.

Oleg Maskaev is now in his 41st year, and he's become slower-moving and easier to hit since his last win over Rahman in 2006. He's an old, shot fighter and so beating him would prove nothing.
