Is there a weight limit for Cotto on fight night? Any known requirements in the contract?

i don't mind the catchweight.
i think 143-144 is fair for both guys. 145 is even more fair to cotto.
there should NEVER EVER be a weight limit for fight night though.
official weigh ins are all that matter and the day of fight night weigh ins are over.Comment

Let me settle this real quick
Theres a common misconception going around some boxing circles that says Oscar Dela Hoya was going to be fined 1 million dollars per pound he came over the WW limit on fight night.
Which is way off
There was such a requirement placed on Oscar but it was for the weigh in.... not the night of the fight ....People don't seem to understand that part.
Oscar could have come in at 200 pounds if he wanted...He's the one that chose to loose all kinds of weight on some kind of weird hippie yoga diet...and not cut and blow up like every other fighter does.Last edited by BOOMbip; 07-22-2009, 09:15 PM.Comment

i don't know what he's talking about tbh.
i know hopkins and delahoya had a catchweight agreement for hopkins of 156.
nothing to do with a fight night weigh in limit. how would one enforce that anyway?
he could also be mistaken and think that there was a fight night weight limit for the pacquiao-oscar fight because oscar came in at 147 fight night.
that would be wrong though because there was no such limit. oscar came in that light on his own.Comment
