Haye to fight giant Valuev
DAVID HAYE is to fight the biggest heavyweight champion of all time for the world title.
Haye's battle against 7ft 2in, 23 stone Russian Nikolay Valuev for the WBA crown will take place on November 7.
The venue has yet to be decided but it is likely to be in Germany.
Londoner Haye, at 6ft 5in, will be giving away a massive NINE INCHES as well as SEVEN STONES.
But he insisted: "I have a big grin on my face.
"I have finally signed a contract to fight Valuev on November 7. All that needs to be confirmed is the site.
"But I feel wherever the bout takes place it will be a complete sell-out and I just can't wait to start training again."
Haye agreed to fight the 'Beast from the East' after becoming disillusioned with the way talks were progressing over his proposed Frankfurt date with WBC champion Vitali Klitschko in September.
Haye was originally scheduled to fight Vitali's brother Wladimir at Gelsenkirchen in June for the IBF and WBO titles.
But the Brit, 28, was forced to pull out after injuring his back training.
He said: "The reality was that I would not have been in control of my own destiny for quite a long while if I had signed the contract the Klitschko management group were putting in front of me.
"Basically they would have been able to tell me when and who I fight for quite a while to come.
"This way, when I beat Valuev later this year I will again be in control of my own destiny."
Valuev, 35, has lost only once in 50 bouts, a points verdict to Uzbek Ruslan Chagaev two years ago.
Haye's sole defeat in 23 fights was as a cruiserweight to Carl Thompson five years ago.
Sky TV will screen the bout against Valuev live in the UK.
