How does that make Byrd an idiot?He is the champion and he has the right to dictate where the match should take place. Although his excuses are childish, if he truly belives them then I guess you can't really fault the guy.

I don't think too highly of guys who make excuses either but I didn't knock Byrd for his excuses because of Germany's poor reputation to foriegn fighters.

His excuse for the Ike fight was inexcusable and unprofessional.

Bryd thought that Wlad had something on his gloves. Their is definitly something wrong with his eyes during their fight, whether it was a chemical or just getting punched in the face a lot, who knows? And if Wlad kicked his ass so hard last time without cheating than why would he be worried about where the fight is?

Why was Byrd's excuse for the Ike stoppage unprofessional? I've seen the fight and it was obvious to me that he was dazed after the monster hit he took. I've watched fights where a boxer is knocked out and flat out refuses to believe he was even hit with a punch. A hard punch can really screw up your judgement and reasoning abilities. Considering the circumstances, I think Byrd's protests were understandable.

I heard that bull**** too. I heard that Byrd is getting 2.5 millions and for that money fighter like Byrd should fight anywhere and anytime, even naked on a streets of Iraq. You see Chris is a very booooorrrrrring fighter and also had couple of his wins inrightfully earned and you know average boxing fan does not like it. So if you get the chance to fight for like the biggest pay day in your career against a fighter you are convinced you can beat you gotta go at it. Kostya Tszyu for example is 10 times greater champion and he is gonna fight Hatton
in England. in Hatton's own Backyard. So this all bitching is all probably a matter of finding and excuse and fighting Barret.
