Actually yes in a lot of the same ways out of the ring...lots of style, flash, and trash talk...but when Ali proclaimed himself the greatest sure it pissed off a lot of people but some were much more inclined to agree with him atleast partially. Ali many times entertained people both inside and outside the ring but it seems like a lot of Mayweather's fights leave boxing fans flat based on who he's fought and who he could've fought.

I think people just want to see Floyd in a fight where they can't view it as a forgone conclusion.

I should probably re-phrase that statement. I can see how it sounds ******.

I guess what I'm trying to say is it's like when may fought gatti...from the opening bell it was pretty obvious that floyd was gonna win...same with baldomir...same with hatton maybe not from the opening bell but pretty quickly in the opening rounds...people view his fight with DLH to be boring and not close....and a lot think marquez will lose due to size...etc

I think people might want to see him in a few fights where there is a good back and forth that creates excitement...I can't speak for everyone but the fights I generally enjoy the most are ones that are closely contested...or ones that have good displays of boxing/fighting skills on both sides

I like competitive fights also, those fights didnt look as competitive after they had started, going into many of those fights people would come up with ways on how Floyd would lose, so he gets backlash when they arnt as competitive like thats his fault. But I know what you mean...there are past threads with many saying Oscar, Baldomir, Hatton and others would beat Mayweather, whether it be they are too big or too strong.
