It does but it's no excuse. Do you know how often that happens? It happens allot, Cotto could see out of the eye. Sure it hurts but they are pros and deal with it. I'm talking about being tagged by wide hooks one after the other, I'm talking about retreating without throwing punches, I'm talking about gassing out after only a few rounds. Cotto has taken too much damage already and damage in boxing IS ALWAYS cumulative in effect. Just compare Cotto who fought Mosley to Cotto who fought Clottey. The guy is supposed to be entering his prime age-wise but the sense many people have is that Cotto is exiting his prime instead.
And please don't BS me about "no one ever looks good vs Clottey because Clottey looked pretty Average himself in his previous fight VS Judah and was coming a very long layoff. Oh and he lacks in experience too vs elite fighters.

I do understand your point of view i cant say i agree with it but i do understand where u are coming from,not to make excuses either but blood was running over his eye so it would be difficult to see out of it plus it takes from your concentration instead of concentrating on your game plan you are trying not to get hit there anymore,Clottey didnt look that good against Judah but Judah aint no joke either,Now that been said the day Cotto,Clottey,Mosley or any other top ww looks bad against a guy like Alfonso Gomez then i would say they are shot.
