    Jose "OnFire"...

I haven't seen a lot of his interviews but watching his interviews with Kessler and Froch was almost cringe worthy.

He called Kessler the WBC champion and pronounced 'Froch' as 'Fro-CK' to his face, which you could see Froch isn't happy about.

I know this guy is (American?) but still, these are the biggest names in the SMW division and it's just poor journalism.

    What are the general thoughts?

(He may well be a very good interviewer in general, I havn't seen much at all).

Overall, I enjoy his interviews (like with Mayweather or Malignaggi), but yeah sometimes he does goof up big time. No one can pronounce Mikkel's name correctly, OnFire included.

Come on, everyone can screw up when it comes to pronouncing (me as a German have a hard time to get English and Spanish pronunciation right all the time) names. You have to get your words/question off fast regarding to a plot to make it a good interview. You also shouldn't forget that we aren't professionals and b/c of that won't give a TV experience.

A thing one can work on are the facts (age, heritage, fight history...) and I am sure most of the guys on BS are doing this but sometimes you choke - for example (and god bless I don't have that on camera) instead of "Kelly Pavlik was quoted..." I said "Jermain Taylor was quoted..." regarding the quotes from last week from Pavlik about the tourney. Jermain went mad but in the end he made fun of me...cool to have seen all those guys in person last week in Berlin.

Yer I guess. I did say I hadn't seen many of the interviews but I think my post was constructive, so I'm not back tracking

Hehe, I don't want ya to. Just want you to understand that's not all that easy. People make and learn from their mistakes and at least you get to see some footages of a lot of fighters and in the end that's what matters...

hes a better interviewer than some people we see on TV. kellermans voice annoys me so much and larry merchant talks too slow.

OnFire seems like a fairly well respected guy in interviews - maybe because hes a suck up or maybe because fighters recognize that hes a legit boxing fan who knows his ****.

as for pronouncing fighters names i think half the english commentators didn't kow how to pronounce froch!!
