    N'dou blames wbc

The main reason for the fight not happening is because, Both Ndou and Witter would have been angry that the WBC refused to sanction the fight as a final eliminator for champion Arturo Gatti's belt - unless they both agreed to face Official No.2 Gianluca Branco after winning this Saturday's box-off.

The money had been sorted and the rematch clause had been sorted. N'Dou said that there is no point in fighting witter unless its a final eliminator.

So it's down to the WBC then, N'Dou has said they 24hours to get it sorted, then witter will have to find a new opponent.

Branco ducked witter, this is why N'Dou is fighting witter, why should they fight branco

****in hell this is pissing me off. I can't see this fight happening then cos I doubt the WBC will change their mind (unless a small "donation" is made!)

Do you remember when Taylor didn't want to fight Eastman in a final eliminator, eastman went above him in the rankings and has got his shot at Hopkins.
Shouldn't this be the same branco sucks Witter, Witter goes above him in the rankings.

Any ideas who witter could fight instead? can't see them changing there mind?

The 'Battersea Bomber' was to have boxed Jermain Taylor in a final eliminator, but the American withdrew.

Assurances had already been given that in such an event Eastman would be automatically installed as mandatory and the WBC were true to their word.

A press release from the govening body declared:

"The World Boxing Council hereby informs that #1 Middleweight contender Howard Eastman has been confirmed as mandatory challenger of WBC Champion, Bernard Hopkins.

"During the World Boxing Council Annual Convention in Phuket Thailand, a purse offer was held for a final elimination bout between Howard Eastman and Jermain Taylor.

"Jermain Taylor has informed the WBC, that he will not face Eastman, consequently a voting was casted by the WBC Board of Governors which resulted in a unanimous ratification of Howard Eastman as mandatory challenger."
