Respect to Enzo. Atleast he picked tough fights. If more guys took challenges like he, did boxing would be even better. He could have cruised on the cards with afolabi when he decided to keep going for the stoppage and got knocked out himself. Also, he didn't have to step in against a dangerous fighter in his last bout. He likely could have milked what talent he had into another crappy strap but he seemed to really want to find out how good he was and get to the top the right way. Enzo was a legit contributor to boxing.

The right move for Enzo, he clearly doesn't have it anymore. Wish him well in whatever he decides to do in the future.

He has suffered 3 bad defeats. I doubt if he will be able to recover from them mentally. I don't know if he's shot. But, that haye defeat messed him up and the 2 KO's after certainly haven't helped. I doubt if he can overcome his demons!

Used to be an Enzo Mac highlight vid on youtube (with the Tom Petty song).
Now even that's gone.

Former WBO cruiserweight champion Enzo Maccarinelli has announced his retirement from the sport of boxing. Macca has lost three of his last four fights by knockout. last Saturday night in Manchester, he was stopped in three rounds by undefeated Denis Lebedev. He was also stopped by Ola Afolabi in March and was crushed in two rounds by David Haye last year.

retirement doesn't make sense. he didn't exactly lose to 3 bums. he could still box but just avoid the top 10-15 fighters at CW, unless he has a backup plan to make some money in his life or he has just completely lost his passion for boxing.
