To me.... Amir Khan has ALREADY shown more of a TRUE champions spirit.
Both had the ability to be knocked down. Both were flashy, for different reasons and both were INCREDIBLY hyped.
Yet, Naseem Hamed is undefeated. He fights someone who isn't impressed AND has the ability and he's all but knocked out and he never comes back to the sport. Regardless of that 'never officially retired' talk.
With Khan, his chin is even worse. He CAN'T rely on one punch knockout power and he gets crushed even more thoroughly then Naseem was beaten.
Yet, within that same 12 month span, he fights a VERY solid fighter and all but sweeps every round. Never seems hurt, virtually moves to a different country to perfect his craft and honestly believes in himself, believing he CAN get better.
Once Hamed was shown that he was human, he became a beaten man. Once Khan became a beaten man, he became a champion. (Atleast, if you follow the alphabet boys.)
Will he leave the mark that Hamed did, by sending LIFE to the lower weight divisions? No. Will he be as popular in the long run? Up in the air. Will they even be compared in the long run? Also up in the air.
But to me.... Khan has shown more overall grit than Hamed ever did. Like it or him, or don't. To me, there's no real two ways about this.
Just felt like throwing that out there.
