..Funny Thing About AMIR KHAN/NASEEM HAMED...

To me.... Amir Khan has ALREADY shown more of a TRUE champions spirit.

Both had the ability to be knocked down. Both were flashy, for different reasons and both were INCREDIBLY hyped.

Yet, Naseem Hamed is undefeated. He fights someone who isn't impressed AND has the ability and he's all but knocked out and he never comes back to the sport. Regardless of that 'never officially retired' talk.

With Khan, his chin is even worse. He CAN'T rely on one punch knockout power and he gets crushed even more thoroughly then Naseem was beaten.

Yet, within that same 12 month span, he fights a VERY solid fighter and all but sweeps every round. Never seems hurt, virtually moves to a different country to perfect his craft and honestly believes in himself, believing he CAN get better.

Once Hamed was shown that he was human, he became a beaten man. Once Khan became a beaten man, he became a champion. (Atleast, if you follow the alphabet boys.)

Will he leave the mark that Hamed did, by sending LIFE to the lower weight divisions? No. Will he be as popular in the long run? Up in the air. Will they even be compared in the long run? Also up in the air.

But to me.... Khan has shown more overall grit than Hamed ever did. Like it or him, or don't. To me, there's no real two ways about this.

Just felt like throwing that out there.

that's cool, I support you man. I hear what your saying. The thing is, not too many people are sold on Amir Khan. IMHO the kid can box, Kahn's got skills. But your talking about NAZ!!! Naseem Hamed has greater punching power than Kahn, "Prince" had one punch KO power. That right hand was wicked!! You didn't know where it was coming from.

It would be unfair to base Hamed's career, and warrior ethos on one loss.

Naz was KTFO people left right and centre. He held all 4 belts at feather (at some point) and shone the spotlight on the little guys.

Khan got KTFO in one minute and has now has got one paper title.

Also, the Barrera fight was a schooling but let's not forget the scores weren't a shut out. Kahn was outclassed and knocked silly by an unknown bum within one minute. Naz took a lesson from a prime, in form Barrera, one of the best fighters of his generation.

Im happy Khan has done well of late and was impressed with him but untill he clears out a whole division emphatically he shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath as Naz.

Naz fell in love with his power and even bfore Barrera fight you could see his hunger was going.

Hamed was bored and super rich by the time he fought Barrera. The loss just confirmed he didnt have the desire anymore.

Khan was a prospect who still has the hunger and self belief after being KO'd. But he fought a nobody paper champion without a punch. It really doesnt prove anything.

Hamed foguth and beat the best FW's out there and was champion for 6 years.

IMO Khan hasnt proved he is world class material, or that he can take a decent punch. Him having a belt means very little. I hope he does well against real competition soon. Hes a good guy, but i see him getting KO'd when he fights a big name.

Khan will likely never reach the heights Naz did as a FW.

Don't compare the Prince with Khan. I've seen in some writers top 10 list as him being P4P one of the hardest hitters ever. Dude has championshipS. Give Khan time, hopefully he will do the same.
