I think this fight would be a good measuring stick in assessing where he stands in the Welterweight division. He is a top 15 fighter at the moment, and if he could get rid of Gomez within a few rounds, you would have to feel he is ready to really step up in class.

Agree with this. I also see someone post about Brook vs Cintron earlier, so i think fights with Cintron and Gomez, would be a good test for him and get him over in the U.S, noticed there and a world title shot soon enough.

Gomez seems like a good measuring stick, Quintana, Baldomir and Ricardo Torres are all able to fight at 147 and would be pretty good measureing sticks.
