Was Kotelnik a Euro level fighter or a World Class fighter.

Kotelnik schooled Witter to the point of embarrassment IMO.
He beat M'Baye well and was robbed.
He decisioned Maidana (I thought it was a win for Kotelnik).
He handed Rees his first loss in brutal fashion.

Not only was he world class, he was one of the top guys in the division.

Lets not forget he's rated above Holt, Urango, Malignaggi and Ortiz @ 140 Lbs. But I guess he's just a little Euro bum.

Maidana was losing the fight to Ortiz and if he had not quit he might have lost the fight and besides that............what has Ortiz done yet either ?

The Rankings probably had Malignaggi above fighters like Bradley and Holt when he fought Hatton so

Silly ****s on this forum saying that Ortiz deserved the title shot and not Khan.

If people honestly think he's European level then they need to watch a different sport.

Kotelnik won his belt from Gavin Rees of all people, that should say it all. I'm not saying he isn't a top light welter and a good win for Khan but it's a bit humorous to call Kotelnik or Khan a "world champion". I guess calling him a world title claimant would be fair though, since there is no official light welterweight champion at the moment.
          Exactly!!

Kotelnik is a World Class contender, he is not a World Class Champion.

Herbie Hide was WBO Champ but he was not a World Class fighter/Champion, he was just lucky enough to pick up a belt off the right opponent.

You saw what happened when he fought a World Fighter in Bowe.

He was a title holder of an ABC belt, not a World Champion.

This is ridiculous. Kotelnik is a Euro class fighter, not a World class fighter, to say otherwise is quite ignorant of the facts.

Lets have a look at the linage of his "WORLD TITLE"

M'baye > Balbi for vacant title IN THE UK

Reese > M'baye IN THE UK

Kotelnik > Reese IN THE UK

His belt is nothing more than a re-branded Commonwealth belt.

If Witter is B class then the only top level fighter at 140 is Pacquiao. I personally think Witter beats Malignaggi, Hatton and Urango

Speaking about Urango Im curious how you rate him
