Ortiz was supposed to fight for Kotelnik's Title, not Khan...

But somehow Khan's people were able to steal that fight from Ortiz' people. And Ortiz ended up fighting a monster named Marcos Maidana. I don't understand how Khan can come up from 135 and in his first fight get a title shot. That was Ortiz' deserved fight. Khan should have come up to 140 and fought Maidana first with the winner getting a crack at the Ortiz - Kotelnik winner. Golden Boy failed Victor twice by letting this fight get away from him AND then throwing the young man to the lion in Marcos Maidana.

Khan is a bigger name than Ortiz, and could secure Kotelnik more £££. That's boxing for you.

In fairness, I don't think either Khan or Ortiz really deserved a title shot - they were just big money prospects. Kotelnik beat Maidana (albeit by controversial decision), so I think Ortiz would have had problems with either opponent, although Kotelnik would probably taken a decision rather than stopping Ortiz like Maidana did. Golden Boy may have let Ortiz down, but he let himself down by fighting ******ly anyway. Maidana was there to be outboxed and he tried to slug it out.

                Maidana is hardly a monster.

Ortiz could have destroyed maidana, hes not that good, Ortiz just fought like an idiot.

Also as many people have said before kotelniks probably after a bit of cash and publicity, and hes probably confident of a win

Exactly, just like Kotelnik will get robbed tonight if it goes the distance. Don't understand why he's going to Britain to fight that British hype job.
