Vazquez Topples Prescott; Cubans Shine on Undercard

By Cliff Rold - Entering the ring Friday night at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, Ring Magazine’s #7 rated Lightweight, 26-year old Breidis Prescott (21-1, 18 KO) of Colombia knew what it was like to upset one of the sports fastest rising stars and what it was like to be bitten by a desperate foe. Now he knows what it’s like to lose, falling on a split decision to 22-year old Miguel Vazquez (25-3, 12 KO) of Mexico in a fight which wasn’t as close as the scoring would indicate. [details]

        Khan's a great boxer, but has a **** chin.

The lad can't help that and it certainly doesn't determine his boxing skill.

I wasn't too surprised that Prescott lost. The entire fight his punches were thrown too wide, and just like Sergio Mora said in that little interview, Vasquez is the type who frustrates you. I guess Margarito has an eye for talent.

This confirms Khan is a TRUE bum. He has never beaten a lightweight; let along lasted more than 1 MINUTE with one. Now he is fighting for a title at 140?

                  GTFO.

Yeah, a true bum who has won a belt at the age of 22, on a near shut-out, in his 22nd professional fight. Some bum - your hate is pathetic, and just makes you look ******.

The fact is that Vasquez was a very skilful, and seriously under-rated fighter, and Prescott, though more limited, still knocked Vasquez down with a jab - he has serious power. And Khan has improved dramatically under Roach, since his amateurish performance against Prescott, which was before he had teamed up with the world's best trainer.
