Co-signed. I had stated the same before in other threads, specially when explaining of why he doesn't fight The Punisher. I also believe that Winky is southpaw and helped him against Mosley. The funny part is how Forrest goes out and loses twice to Mayorga.

Mosley is one of this decade top 3 fighters. Since 2000, SSM fought ODLH (x2), Taylor, Forrest (x2), Winky (x2), Estrada, Vargas (x2), Collazo, Cotto, Mayorga and Margarito. That's a tough list to top. He was active the whole 10 years, and has never been KOed. Who will be his last opponent this decade? SSM beats every single option, even PBF... everyone except for Paul Williams.

Forrest was the best technical fighter at WW during that time, he had good power, and his jab was very long, he could hurt with his jab, and his reach and timing was just too much for Mosley. Also Forrest fought very smart, and chose to fight at his pace and not brawl. IMO Forrest is very underrated, and would have dominated Oscar De La Hoya and Vargas as well before his injuries.

I thought Forrest won the rematch as well.

            1. Jack Mosley didnt know what to do or say in the first fight after the headbutt and kd.
            2. Shane showed no headmovement in the first fight and couldnt adapt
            3. Mosley wanted to brawl instead of trying to box, which he could do
            4. in the second fight, Mosley let Forrest steal rounds
            5. He didnt have Goosen or Richardson
            6. WASNT THROWING COMBOS AND SHOULD HAVE LET HIS HANDS GO LIKE MAYORGA DID. SHANE STUNNED FORREST MANY TIMES IN THE SECOND FIGHT

Good points. I'd add that Forrest fights best going backwards, and Mosley ALWAYS comes forward. If he stopped chasing Forrest it would have done wonders.

Btw, prime Forrest technical boxing ability >>> Paul Williams. Paul is not going to back up constantly, and his defense is ****. Mosley will brutalize him @ 147, which is not Paul's best weight.

Styles make fights. Forrest always cancelled Mosely speed with a accurate long left jab. And worked a good gameplan for 24 rounds to defeat Mosely. Do in the first fight Mosely and Forrest suffered a pretty bad clash of heads, which Mosley come out the worst for were.

The headbutt is the main reason I feel Forrest scored the knockdown over Mosely in there first fight. Mosely was pretty badly dazed from the butt and took some big shots from forrest which he done well getting up from.

The rematch was alot closer than there first fight do. Forrest won on scores of (117-111 | 116-112 | 115-113)

Forrest also defeated Mosely in the amature ranks in the 1992 light welterweight Olympic Trials in Worcester, MA on decision.

Opinions on why/how forrest had shanes number?
he was a tall fighter with great timing, mosley looked like he was having a hard time getting inside in their fights, forrest was able to position mosley with his jab. that was the first fight, and that is how he was able to knock down mosley, BUT!!!!!!!, the main factor in both fights, mostly in the second, was forrest's clinches! forrest in both, mainly the second fight was clinching and holding like ruiz, it really pissed me off, but it worked out for him, because forrest was able to use his jab and get off his punches, then tie up mosley with his long arms and not let mosely getting any punches off or combo's. it really stunk up the second fight, but like i said earlier, it worked for him.

also, forrest beat mosley in the amateurs too................
