Khan has fought at LWW before.

Khan moved from lightweight to light welterweight for a single fight against French fighter Rachid Drilzane on 9 December 2006, winning a 10 round decision. Khan experienced the first knockdown of his career when his opponent caught him with a good left. Drilzane had never scored a knockout in his 13 fight career. Khan returned to the lightweight division for future fights.
Makes you wonder why he went back down to Lightweight though?

Couldn't he cope with the weight?

Well considering he built more muscle at the top of his body...going up weight would make that even worse...

now hes going up and building his lower body...should help alot more....freddie said hes more resilient at this new weight because he was draining himself before, and now he can have a breakfast the morning of the fight...so....i dunno he still has a **** chin tho

    COME ON KHAN! lol

Better/easier fights at lower weights at the time for him i think, he is very big for 135 compared to the guys he was fighting imo and it gave him some nice advantages while learning his trade. Most of the guys he faced he had clear physical advantages over at that weight if he stayed at lw i don't think this would be the case.

Except Prescott (not trying to **** on Khan i like him) we know how that turned out -.-

I dunno really i think he will probably end up around 147 given his height/build possibly even 154.

The lower the weight, the smaller his opponents will be.

I think Khan works well when he's behind his jab, but anyone who has a reach advantage over him is a bad matchup.

Well, if Boxrec is anything to go by, he fought at LWW for his first ten fights. After Drilzane (great fight, just watched it again), he went to 135 once, then back to LWW for Stefy Bull, then 135 where he's been ever since.

Exactly Prescott matched up pretty similar to Khan probably had a reach advantage too. Generally the other guys he faced were Barrera vs Khan kind of size difference i thought, but then again i could be talking ****, cant remeber all his 21 fights

Kotelnik is a top 10 LWW. If Khan wins on Saturday night, it is obvious he would have improved since losing to Prescott. If he can beat Kotelnik, he has a fair chance of beating any other light welterweight besides Pacquaio.

same thing dlh did by fighting at 130 lbs, feast on smaller boxers and grab another belt in another division.
