Dan Rafael: "Floyd is the Ultimate B-Side"

Picked this up from this chat session:

D$$ - The thing that gets me the most about Floyd is how he says it's his name that puts the asses in the seats. Last I checked, his two biggest draws were against Oscar (The Ultimate Cash Cow) (1:02 PM)

Dan: Floyd is the ultimate B side. He has yet to prove he can draw on his own.

Floyd-Hatton did well from what I remember...Gatti-Mayweather generated $15.3 million in PPV revenue...people do pay to see Floyd lose

No one besides DLH can draw on his own. Pacquiao vs Diaz PPV did like 185K buys. It takes 2 to sell a fight.

        DLH-Spinks would sell.
        Mayweather-Spinks would not.

        That is the difference.

"Mayweather Jr and Ricky Hatton amassed 915,000 buys in 2007 making it the most viewed non-heavyweight, non-Oscar De La Hoya PPV in boxing history. Pacquiao-Hatton came in right behind that."

"Floyd Mayweather's shutout victory against Carlos Baldomir to win the world welterweight championship last Saturday night in Las Vegas generated 325,000 pay-per-view buys, HBO announced Friday."

Tyson and Holyfield could draw on their own. So could Foreman.

If the skipper actually got into a fight, more people might tune in to see him win rather than tuning in to see him lose, he runs so much people know that is his MO and people do not want to watch a remake of the running man three times a year.
