Shane Mosley’s Lowball Puts Andre Berto Clash at Risk

BoxingScene.com has learned that a proposed fight between welterweight champions Shane Mosley and Andre Berto is in jeopardy of not happening at all. Various sources advised me that Golden Boy Promotions made an offer of $750,000 for Berto to face Mosley in the fall. Based on that number, Berto would earn less for Mosley than he did for Juan Urango and Luis Collazo. [details]

This is a deliberate tactic by Mosley. He just doesn't want to get in the ring with a American fighters, that is why the offer is so low

First Hopkins lowballs Adamek, now Mosley lowballs Berto, what's with the lowballing from GBP fighters?

Anyways, Berto better knock Aydin out if he accepts that offer to go to Turkey to fight, last time a government paid for a fight Caballero ended up winning a controversial decision.

All this tells me is that Berto was overpaid for the Urango fight and Mosley isn't willing to make that mistake.

It has nothing to do with nationality.

That's how negotiations go. Mosley is the bigger star, if Berto beats him the sky is the limit for Berto (thats a big if). Besides Berto who elso Mosley could fight? Cintron is looking for a fight with Mosley but who wants to see that
