Is Johny Tapia underrated?

all the boxing he's seen was probably highlights of hamed doing something cool on youtube, and maybe a few hatton fights down at the pub that he can't really remember watching because he was pissed

Looking down on me know and thinkin you know me because i reckon Naz wud of KO'd your boyfriend?
Ive seen a hell of alot of Tapia's fights and i think naz is a fcukin Twat but was a hell of talent,
i wont let my personal opinions on him overshadow his talent!
I know Johnny Tapia had fast hands, fast feet, power, and precision.
Can never take that away from him,
but to say he is underated i dont think so.
He's had a Hall of Fame caliber boxing career,
and i dont think anyone can dispute that!
His achievements outweigh his troubles outside the ring in my opinon anyway.

Naz had a personality problem and bad managment around him.

Naz at the end of his career he train less and less every fight and only depended on his talent. Even in the Barrera fight he was not training to his full potential. But that what you get if you slack off.

Naz also depended on his relfex and speed which kinda went down after every fight.

anyway this isnt a Nassem Hamed vs Johnny Tapia thread but it more of a tribute to one of boxing most exicting fighter and remeber him.

I rarely seen a thread talking about Tapia or even mentioning him so it good just to hear what people think about him from time to time.

Also I just new to boxing and Tapia prime was in the late 90s. So this is another reason I wanted to know more about him as an opion from other people.
