I believe Cotto is not the same not for the Margarito beating but for his uncle-trainer Evangelista being fired from the team. I hope he gets his stuff together cause there is no time for adapting.. Look at what happened to Hatton after hiring Mayweather Sr...

Cotto is a complete different fighter after taking a knee as a gesture of defeat to Margarito. The change is very obvious when he fought Clottey, he became very tentative in throwing punches and lost his killer instinct that usually dominate his opponent.

That had nothing to do with a gash over his eye that required over 20 stitches right?

We haven't had an opportunity to truly assess Cotto's psyche after the Tony fight. That cut threw a wrench into any assessment you would make from the Clottey fight.

I think it's insane for fans of either to think that a battle like that wouldn't take atleast a little something from both men. Cotto's die hard fans that 100% believe that Cotto took to much plaster would have to admit that taking that would have definitely taken something from him. Plus if someone were to just believe that Margorito was a average guy that just absorbed the punishment and beat down Cotto after he wore him down, well then that also would be like saying Margorito lost something because he got tagged up with some world class shots. That night was the best I ever seen Cotto, he was so fast and crisp with his punches adn he was landinf pin point accurate hard impressive looking shots. So yes Margorito lost something too from what he took. That was a great fight and I am old school and believe guys only got so many fights in them and they only can have a few fights of that magnitude there entire lives. Both men lost a little from the fight.
