I really like the way Roy is thinking right now, his confidence. And I think for him he has it right about his style. He can't put the guard up and receive like he does but by going back to his old style he needs to be smart about it. If he is comitted to fitness and stays active he can be better than he looked against Calzaghe.

Ali stepped up past his prime in the Thrilla in Manilla, and he won it because Joe was tired and busted up. Tarver was tired in that third fight, all Roy had to do is step it up and he didn't. Later on he claimed that he lost on purpose because of his father being in his corner.

B.S. Roy, the contradictions are hilarious.
I agree 100%. I'm a longtime Roy fan but the way he "fought" Tarver the 3rd time was borderline lame. Sure he had a few good rounds and showed what he could do if he really wanted too, but all the hip shaking, head nodding, tongue wagging crap really made it clear that the Roy Jones I followed for years was all but gone.

I may be wrong but when Tarver and Johnson knocked him out, he still used his "old" style of having his left hand down at his hip. I don't remember him going to the "Winky" style until he fought Tito.

Just makes it sad to remember what he was and to look at him now, dressing in costumes to promote a fight.
