Pirog vs Asiskainen, Gulyakevich Vacates, Super Six

Russian Dmitryi Pirog is co-challenger, along with Amin Asikainen, to the vacant EBU middleweight title. Pirog enters as Sebastian Sylvester eyes the vacant IBF crown. Pirog is only 14-0 but has several good wins on his record and Asikainen, 26-2, needs to be at his best if he is to regain the title he won and lost against Sylvester. [details]

I really need to check out Asikainen. He seems to be the only Finnish boxer with a name that gets talked about.

    Hyvä Suomi!!!

Dmitry Pirog is a better fighter than Spada and Zbik, who fought for the interim WBC title last weekend. He won every round against Kofi Jantuah a couple of weeks ago. Amin Asikainen isn't bad either, despite that embarassing loss to Gevor.

This should be a good fight.
