it's slowly creeping back into that rut. we had a great run 2007-2008, but now in 2009, we have Mayweather, Lopez, Pavlik and now, sadly, Pacquiao pushing the sport back over the bridge.
I think mobsters and gangsters need to get heavily involved again. It's kinda true, since Mayweather's return it's been nothin but greed and politics.

I don't know the guy nor have i ever met him, but what is Mayweather's obession with money? Doesn't he know he can't take money with him when he dies? But leaving your legacy behind will stand for all time. A true fighter would fight for nuttin.

He has kids that will be here wehn hes dead..what dont you understand about that.

The only thing Mayweather loves more then boxing is his 4 kids...therre dear to his heart...Hell make alot of money and retire being able to hold a conversation so his kids can have the childhood his dad robbed him off.

Floyd has said that COUNTLESS of times.

          He fights for Moeny...so does Hatton...so does Pac...So does Mosley...lol..especially mosley...lol..

          If you dont believe me....

Ask Pac to fight for free...he'll laugh in your face.

Its entainment to us...its a job to them.

I think we just need Floyd to stay retired
you see this what I dont get from you guys...you say that he needs to fight x,y,z...then in the very next sense say he needs to stay retired....don't make much sense to me. Not only that, but him vs Manny is the BIGGEST fight in the sport HANDSDOWN

So then why are you making thread after thread about how no one will fight Williams and everyone is ducking him when Williams brings the LEAST to the table than most fighters in the division he fights in? Judging by your responses, YOU of all people should understand that.

i agree 100% the fans now care about what boxer gets what split as if there getting a percentage of the revenues. its sad cuz boxing is getting less and less interest while ufc is gaining popularity. boxing is ****ed.

                    Like i said...legacy = kids.

Wow! How original...for my kids, for my kids, for my kids, for my kids, for my kids...blah blah blah...how cliche can you get?

People fight on the street all the time for nuttin, and i find street fights waaay more entertaining than an organized, commericalized, sponsered fight. But you're right, it's a job to them BECAUSE it's entertainment to us. However, if it weren't for entertainment, would they still be fighting? You ever heard of pit fighters?

Remember the hard times of boxing during the early to mid 90s? It wasn't all that exciting or entertaining and there weren't copious amounts of money involved during that period, with the excpetion of a few bouts and pre-prison young prime Tyson.

But yes, Boxing 2009 is a little flat. Of course ima still gonna watch, cus i'm a fan, but there should be more super fights by this time.
