you have to understand, bale himself had a huge hand IN THE STORY, he said himself he wouldnt do the movie unless certain touches were added or removed in order for him to star in it. while i dont blame him entirely, he is as much the reason why the story wasnt good as anyone, he had alot of creative input and the **** was weak.

If anyone is a bad actor its Wahlberg he is crap and is just boring imo. I would rather sit down and watch a good documentary about Ward than a film, When We Where Kings was much better than that Ali film. But if it gets new people interested in boxing i suppose its a good thing. There are also a lot more interesting boxing story's out there like Kassim Ouma.Comment

The thing is this movie is being directed by darren aronofsky. There is no such thing as bad acting in his movies. He's the same guy that made Pi, Requiem for a dream and The Wrestler. He's one of the most talented directors today. ****, he made Marlon Wayans seem like al pacino lol.If anyone is a bad actor its Wahlberg he is crap and is just boring imo. Bad acting more often than not reflects poor directing of a film. Think of Wahlberg in The Happening. That was his worst performance, but it was directed by a complete idiot & tool (absolutely horrible director).
A great director would never allow bad acting in their film. This is the same reason why Marlon Brando opposed The Oscars & other awards because he understood that the entire performance of the actor relies heavily on how well the director is.Last edited by ИATAS; 07-15-2009, 11:03 AM.Comment

exactly. And darren aronofsky has a proven track record of bringing out the best in his cast. Look at what he did for Mickey Rourke & Marisa Tomei in The Wrestler, two supposedly washed up actors. Or the entire caste of Requiem for a Dream and Pi were phenomenal.Comment

True but i have seen some **** movies with some good acting but i do agree that the director has a big influence on the outcome of a film, i have always been interested in the use of lighting and cinematography in films for some bizarre reason, apocalypse now is one of my fav for that. The thing is this movie is being directed by darren aronofsky.
