im all for a 40-40 winner takes the extra 20.... some more motivation to win... this would keep alot of fighters from quitting or seldom showing up in the ring!Comment

A restriction may be exactly what the doctor ordered, but not just for the fighters. The promoters and everyone else, EVERYONE, should have a ceiling on their 'earnings' when they are in the MILLIONS of dollars. And don't give me that 'they're putting their lives on the line' crapola. Military, police and firefighters do it all the time for a hell of a lot less every day.are you kidding, you want wage RESTRICTION? how would you like it if you were told by some association that you make too much and need to work for less? besides, that would only lead to ****tier matchups since the association would make a killing off of fighters... they would be the one taking all the excess profits...
the money is there, its just a matter of agreementComment

so where would the excess money go?A restriction may be exactly what the doctor ordered, but not just for the fighters. The promoters and everyone else, EVERYONE, should have a ceiling on their 'earnings' when they are in the MILLIONS of dollars. the only thing i can see being successful that has to do with regulating any of the income would be if the fighters got paid ONLY by PPV revenue... say each fighter on the card gets a % (determined by contracts based on who is who) this way they all share in the revenue. BUT this wouldnt really help considering the fighters would still be wanted bigger % shares than the other guys....
you can't just "cap" them because there is no idea to how many it will sell and how much revenue will be generated.
i know what you're saying though, and if only there were a way, but salary caps wont work in a "non team" sportComment

The best way still is winner gets the higher percentage. Whatever that is.
It's just sickening to listen to all the crap. When boxers reach the top they feel they own the world.Comment

My thing is that boxing was also always about being the baddest man on the planet. they didn't used to care about losses, just fighting and beating the best in their division. Why is UFC so popular? Cuz Dana makes the best fight the best and it develops a culture where you can't have ducks.Comment
