Does Shane have a good defense?

I think his defensive skills have eroded.

He has no defense for right hands....Cotto landed at will..as will Floyd.

I agree...one of the reasons he has trouble with very good boxers like Winky. Also Shane was smaller than both Wink and Forrest.

In his prime I think he could overcome it but not now. Mayorga was awkward and Shane appeared confused in there...one judge even had Mayorga up before the KO. Cotto who's handspeed is inferior was landing cleaner than Shane when they went toe-to-toe...add in the fact Shane fought the wrong fight...

I'm not being blinded by this KO of the extremely overrated Margarito...

Yup. Which is why kermit beating him seems believable now.

Idk bout that...Kermit's chin wud have to hold up.

He starts bitching when he gets hit. No way will Shane not hit him with some nice shots.

His defense was always his offense. So, yeah his defense depleted somewhat. His chin is still stonehenge.

HOWEVER... How many times has Mosley been KO'd? How many times has he hit the floor? Answer me those questions.

Agreed but Shane is a sucker for the overhand right. Kermit can hurt him, I guarantee it.

I think he has underated D. Look at the Collazo fight how he was avoiding alot of Luis punches. I just think sometimes he brawls when he doesnt need to and should box. I also dont think Forrest wasn't as big as Mosley like some think.Shane was landing punches in that fight. Jack Mosley just didnt have a gameplan. There is no doubt in my mind, if Shane had a better trainer, he could have beaten Forrest. In the first fight, Shane was doing well in the first round and a half until the headbutt. I just think Jack Mosley froze and didnt know what to tell his son. That was the first time his son was KD and cut in a fight. Plus it was early. Winky was just to big big and strong for him. When they clinch, Winky would just push him off far as hell.

Shane problem is he lets his oppenent get off first. Sometimes he reacts instead of act. But when he is determine, he always show his great skills.

Kermit Cintron already backed out of a Mosley fight and Williams, when both were signed. He knows better. I also think his power is overated. His win ovr Angulo is overrated also. He lsot twice in one night to Martinez. Margo beat his ass all over the ring 2x. If she doesnt go his way he folds like the fight against Ndou and the one on the Mayorga vs Vargas card

It's like Stewart said, the Sugar moniker really isnt how Mosley fights,Mosley is more of a boxer puncher who will mix it up in a heart beat!!I think Mosleys biggest problem against Cotto was that he tried to box and being he aint no spring chicken,he was just a tad slower than a younger Mosley!!
