Manny is p4p king because Floyd retired.

      Explain that.
Economic melt down...It has it effects on all. It is the wisest answer in short that i can give. I understand the numbers of the past vs the present but ya have to believe a recession hurts everyone's numbers. Like the stock market for example.
Another thing...Manny is from Philippians. Any fighter outside of the US takes more time to warm up too than a American Fighter in the US. Manny has done that. He is also Internationaly gaining reconition . Always smiling good guy outside the ring . His stories of helping people. A humanaterian. The man has done a lot.
Then you Got Floyd! I dont really even have to explain. anyone who follows the sport can read between the lines of Floyd outside the ring.

Its been said before that bad econmic times may actually not hurt boxing. Some feel it actually helps. Examples would be the popularity of boxing during the great depression. I'm not saying that it didn't have an effect because neither one of us knows. What I am saying is would Manny be able to do 2.5 million homes with ANY boxer? Truthfully? Don't get me wrong I think Manny is rightfully #1 p4p but there is no evidence to what your are saying. Your saying Manny sell more ppvs then Floyd even if he doesnt.

They tap into different Markets. Manny will bring a lot of fans and so will Floyd. I think its pure genius that he is catering to the UK to capitalize on the Hatton fans that show interest in him. Again ts not cut and dry.

Im willing to bet that Pac Cotto will out sell Floyd JMM by a land slide. If Manny stays on the winning streak and continuing doing what he is doing...And Mayweather keeps winning...Manny is and will out sell Floyd at this time. The playing field is level now. The likelyhood of these two getting in the ring IMO is very slim. If thats true...Manny will remain P4p the man to beat [if he keeps winning]. Floyd will have to beat Manny to break that. And back on topic .... Thats where the % comes in and I dont see how Manny deserves less or even. Plus after their fights are said and done. If Manny/Floyd both win... You got Manny [small guy] beating WWs [big guys]!
And Floyd [big guy] fighting Small guy [JMM].
You leave for two years come back and fight a smaller guy and you deserve HALF of the take from the CHAMP...NO...You cant tell me you think he does...Can you?

Manny didn't outsell Floyd with Hatton. Floyd is looking to do better numbers with JMM than Manny did. Your theory is based on hypothetical stuff. Stuff based on ifs instead of facts. To say Floyd is a big guy and Manny is a small one is also funny considering both guys walk into the ring about the same. Its even. If they fight its not Champ vs challenger. Its arguably the top two fighters of the decade fighting each other to see who is best. There is no champ or challenger in this situation.

I dont think i said that Manny out sold anyone. You say"Floyd is looking to do better numbers with JMM than Manny did."??? That was a long time ago when JMM and PAc fought. There is no comparable there...Floyd only has a certain crowd of fans. It takes being a house hold name. They know this. this is why he has to take a commercial for att! Meanwhile Pac and Bryant doing Nike commercial lol... You got to be a House hold name. Floyd aint it. Manny wasn't....until now. That isn't not hypothetical that's fact.
I cant argue in full that the two are not greats of the decade past. the champ challenger thing...I can. There is no way...Floyd can come back after two years and beat JMM [if he does] and deserve a shot.[ He will get it because $$$$ in the big boys pocket!] But fighting a lightweight is a fight YET AGAIN...he will not get credit for....not when there was Cotto Berto Clottey AND for most SSM! EVEN Margarito. Pick them guys off and stake your claim.

The reason its comparable is because its a common opponent. You right Manny vs JMM wasn't as recent but you also have to understand that you can't really compare jmm to cotto either. The REAL test is how they do head to head with the same opponents. And Floyd isn't getting a shot at anything if he fights Pac and vice versa. When Floyd was boxing is was number 1 and since he has been gone Pac is number 1. You seem to think some how one guy is doing the other a favor. They are the two biggest stars in the sport today and have both accomplished great things. No champ. No challenger. Just legacy. Belts would be an afterthought in a fight like this because both guys have had too many to count.

He brought enough people to help make the biggest ppv audience in history. No one else was able to do that with Oscar. Pac is a draw too but the way you make it seem is Pac is just bigger boxing star and its not that cut and dry.

We can go back and forth all night lol. The funny thing is this fight may not even happen due to % split. In the end I would never use the word Legacy and Floyd Mayweather in the same sentence. He himself says he dont fight for Legacy ..He fights for $$$. LOL
After Cotto...SSM being the top WW in the world right now vs Pac is more likely to happen than Mayweather anyway. We will have to see!
