Whats the difference between Floyd fighting Marquez and

Pac fighting David Diaz and Cotto fighting Gomez?

I will be the first to tell you that I'm a huge fan of Cotto and Pac. But I just don't get it. JMM called Floyd out after the Diaz fight. Floyd hasn't fought in damn near 2 years. But even though I was on another forum when these fights happened. Nobody really talked **** about Cotto or Pac taking those fights. I felt like Mosley deserved a rematch against Cotto and so did Marquez against Pac.

All these fights are tuneups. Only gripe on it is Diaz and Gomez were easy tuneups within Pac and Cotto's divisions. Mr boat buyer is takin his tuneup at WW against a LW. He's entitled to a tuneup to shake off his rust, but if it was gonna be at WW, he shoulda fought a lower top 10 WW. Doubtful JMM challenged him expectin to have to jump 2 divisions. But JMM is a ****in beast, and when Mr boat buyer made those demands he refused to back down.

If JMM is willing to move up and fight Floyd, I don't have a problem with that but don't feed me crap about it being between the pound for pound best and all that crap.

I see what you're saying. But was Ray Leonard talked about ass badly as Floyd when he fought Duran who moved up 2 classes? Was Hoya talked about ass badly when he fought Mosley who was moving up from LW. I know they had some tune ups with lesser fighters before the fight. But there were also other fights that could have been made at those times also.

Duran fought at WW before he faced SRL. He was a top 10 ranked contender in the division. He had already beaten Palamino. DLH got his WBC belt back after Felix moved up. He had softer comp to face, but SSM was a legit challenger, tho not a top 10 ranked contender as Duran was after Palamino.

Diaz and Gomez were in the same division. Pac moved up to fight Diaz actually. Yea they were expected to win, but they weren't fighting smaller fighters either. I don't have a problem with any of the fights to be honest, even Mayweather-Marquez. But you asked for the difference.

Duran sure did face Palamino. That was a good fight by the way. So would you had perfered JMM to fight a tuneup at 140 with somebody like Nate Campbell or Tim Bradley at 140? If he was impressive there whould a fight with Floyd interest you then?

Even for a tuneup JMM ****s all over Diaz...Micheal Jennings...Golden Johnson..and Alphonso Gomez.

Tony defended his title against the unranked ghost of Manuel Gomez and nobody said ****.

JMM is just a tune-up after 2 years away.

Just be glad its not Jennings or Alphonso Gomez.
