He could not handle Castillo on the inside that is why he almost lost the fight, he spent the second fight exclusively fighting from long range, and he was forced to get on his bike against Chavez because he was putting so much pressure on him, he only came back inside when Chavez tired towards the end.

I would not take it for granted that he would beat Cotto on the inside, especially with Cotto's body attack, Cotto does not smoother his work like Hatton.

Floyd's speed and accuracy is too good for Cotto, I used to think Cotto would beat him with his solid jab, timing, combinations, and body work, but he would have to put on a similar performance to what Margarito did to him or get a better defense. 2 things that probably won't happen.

I don't know why you'd say this though cuz Floyd hasn't fought on the inside since 135.
No way man, Chop Chop, Hatton, Bruseles, Zab Judah, Mitchell, 1st 7 rounds against Baldomir.

          Cheers.

I get the feeling people overstate Mayweather's power and his ability to fight in the pocket, even Whitaker had to take it outside against good fighters like Nelson, Ramirez, Chavez and he was better than Floyd inside.

Yes, Whitaker was better on the inside, then again they're two different fighters.

PBF as good on the inside he is might not elect to go inside fighting in the higher weight classes... 147 beyond...

like duran... manos de piedra was one of the best on the inside ever, but in the hagler fight he elected never to use his skills on the pocket for he was in the ring with a natural middleweight who was naturally bigger & more powerful than him...

                      Yes.

IMO You just cant do that as often with elite or top fighters, they know too much.
