An Invitational Letter From Brad Wright to all Boxing Officials (ABC Seminar)

    Dear Boxing Officials

The Michigan Association of Professional Boxing Officials (MAPBO) will host a Officials Certification Seminar Feb. 19th, (9:30 AM-4:30 PM) at the SAL gym (SALVATION ARMY BLD.) located at 34 S. Oakland Ave. Pontiac, Michigan. I am sure you will find the seminar one of the most comprehensive training programs for boxing officials available in the world today. Both the content and presentation has been developed by the ABC over the past two years and has had input from leading officials from across the country.

As this will be only the fourth time this clinic has been offered in the past year we hope officials from surrounding states will also take advantage of this opportunity . The clinic
in the past has been held in Charleston S. Carolina, St. Louis Missouri and Las Vegas Nevada at a cost of $ 50.00 to $ 75.00. The Michigan clinic will be offered at $30.00 and will include lunch & print materials.

The class will be conducted by The Association of Boxing Commissions (ABC) trainers Mr. Duane Ford, Las Vegas, Nevada and Mr. Armando Garcia, Miami Florida.

Mr. Ford is one of the most widely worked boxing judges in the industry. He has judged in excess of over 100 world champion bouts and has been providing training seminars for the ABC for the past six years.

Mr. Garcia regularly conducts international seminars for the WBA as well as the International Professional Ring Officials Organization. He is a long time trainer for the (ABC) and has officiated as a (ref. or judge) in over 40 world title bouts.

Your attendance and passing of the exam will earn you ABC certification that is recognized by most states commissions and nearly all sanctioning bodies. Your name will be sent to the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Growth as well as placed on the ABCs national registry.

The Michigan Athletic Board of Control & The Department of Labor and Economic Growth support this educational opportunity and encourage your participation. It is guarantied to be a enjoyable and informative day for all.

We will attempt to mail print materials in advance to registrations received early enough to do so. Your early response will also help us with our lunch ordering. Please fill out the enclosed registration form and return, or please feel free to call me with any questions.

    Looking forward to seeing you,

    Brad Wright
