Ok when people are referring to having the MANOPLAS ADECUADAS, in boxing, this is referring to the work out of the MITTS.
Manoplas is the Spanish word for brass knuckles yes, but it is also the Spanish word for mitts or mittens, So, I believe Tony was talking about having the right mitts or work out with the mitts, now this can be said about the trainers punching mitts or can be referring to the boxers choice of mitts he used during training as in using the right mitts for the heavy bag etc.

I know what it sounds like, but I doubt Tony used brass knuckles on Cotto but, he was caught trying to use plaster shields in his wraps against Mosley. I wonder if Tony has bad hands? Just a hunch.
