Back to the point, If Pacquiao is willing to fight Cotto, why not fight him at his weight? What is the point to have a catchweight? Is Cotto too big? Does he hit too hard?

I can understand if it was Gamboa going up to fight Cotto, there's an obvious weight differential there. But being Pacquiao fought at the welterweight limit (141-147), why can't he fight Cotto in that same scenario?

Let me ask you this...what is the difference between Oscar De la Hoya fighting Manny Pacquiao at 147, and fighting Miguel Cotto at 147?
        1. This can be fair for both fighters. {catchweights} Being big dont mean you hit hard. So if he is the bigger guy...it dont mean Pac is at a disadvantage. The tradiional rules in their weight is 140 or 147. If Cotto has a problem going to Mannys 140 and Manny dont feel comfortable or 100% at 147 than they have to meet in the middle or somewhere there of to make the fight.

        2. Pac fought at a 147 limit once in his life. Cotto did how many times???? OK then! Cotto came into boxing at 140 natural...started his career at 140.
Pacquiao...107lbs. he has fought his last 3 fights at 135 145 140 . he took a chance with DLH for a huge $$$$day!!! They didnt know until Roach seen on the night of the fight that DLH had a IV mark on his Arm. That was a sign. Roach told Pac to jump on him and dont let up....We know how it ended.

        3. Whats the difference between DLH and Cotto? A whole lot of zeros to begin with. Big big money fight. Why move up and do all the work to make Cotto happen when someone else can get this pay check from Pac to fight. SSM did enough to Margarito to make a fight with Pac. and sell it!!! SSM is the recognized WW champ.

If Pac wanted Cotto to fight for his title, do you think Pac would move up in weight to do so??? I don't think so...

Another thing, Cotto cannot afford to lose the chance of fighting Pacquiao because of two important factors, first for financial reason (biggest payday of his career) and secondly for bragging rights. Pacquiao is sitting at the throne as the #1 p4p and the most sought after boxer today and whether they like it or not Pacquiao next opponent needs to bow on Pacquiao's demand or else. Pacquiao has the luxury of dictating the terms of the fight because of the position where he is right now.

For now Pacquiao is King and Cotto is just a pawn so let the ball rolling @ 143 - 144 Lbs.

read my posts and realize that i ain't comparing ****. iwas just playing the game by his rules, since he thinks that cotto is scared of pacquiao when pacquiao's team is the one trying to dehydrate cotto, even though they called his easy work for pac. what's the problem with 145 then? is it si hard for little packie to go up against easy work?

read my posts and see that i said that pac is in my top 3 favorite fighters

yeah, read my posts before you quote me, thanks

                  that's great

let's see pac go against the winner of bradley/cambell and cotto against berto, mosley, margarito, clottey, or cintron. he might even take a tune up against holt in october if he desires

that way, king can fight people of his own size without dehydrating them instead of calling out cotto
