Dan is a **** but he knows alot about the sport of boxing...his opinions might be a little off the wall but I respect him for the knowledge he knows...thats about it...lolYeah they have some contract with UFC cause they do bring it up all the time
as for boxing they only bring up Oscar fights and some mayweather news.
I think its messed up that they talk about McNair (a cheating whorebag) and nothing on Gatti. Yet they show his fights on ESPN classic.
They did do a good interview with Dan R for about 3-4 minutes. I just saw it. DR is a *** headComment

When you get older you will understand!
Mcnair's fanbase is twice as large as gatti's also. And he is American.
I hope that helps put things in perspective for you lad.Comment

While a show like 1st and 10 doesn't give respect to boxing, doesn't mean ESPN as a station doesn't. ESPN Classic shows nothing but great boxinf matches and Dan Rafael and Bert Sugar do what they can for ESPN when called upon.
They also had this great show on ESPN Classic where they talked about the career of one fighter. They would have the fighter on (if he was live still) and usually Bert Sugar, Lou Duva, Emmanuel Stewart and it was hosted by Brian Kenny.Comment

For some reason boxing gets ignored on ESPN except for when Floyd fights now. I don't know why, but everyone ignores the lower weight classes and says boxing is dead because of the lack of a star heavyweight.Comment

The reality though is...Oscar De La Hoya was the last crossover superstar Boxing's had. Neither Floyd or Pacquiao right now posseses that type of start power that will pack crowds just off his name. Pacquiao of course is Boxing's biggest name right now, but he still isn't the cash cow Oscar was nor does he have his type of appeal.they just got done talking about the ufc. Skip basically said it's glorified wrestling. Then the two live stews start bashin boxing because there is not enough star power and fights lol. Dont they know the pacman is doing a nike commerical with one of the most popular athletes in the world kobe bryant. They said not enought great fights obiviously don't konw what their talking about they said there is about 2 well not true, lets see just this year jmm vs. diaz, cotto v. clottey, pac vs. hatton(for the ko) margarito vs. mosley. And the icing of the cake their not even going to talk about gatti. Pathetic they talk about the ufc and how it's glorified wrestling but they can't take the time and pay respect to a boxing warrior. F.uck espn and their non covering boxing dumb asses.
Boxing still has great fighters, but it's going to be a hell of a task filling Oscar's shoes.Comment

When Skip Bayless talks about boxing I roll my eyes.
"Manny Pacquiao has the fastest hands since Sugar Ray Leonard, almost as fast as Ali's."
"Oscar De La Hoya will go down as one of the best defensive boxers of all time."Comment

UFC is doing better not because it's a bett sport but because it's marketed better and Dana White has done an outstanding job with it. He puts the fights together people want to see and that is not happening in boxing.Comment
