Warren Backs DeGale as The Future of British Boxing

James DeGale, 23, goes into this Saturday's fight against Ciaran Healy with the praise of promoter Frank Warren ringing in his ears. DeGale is stepping up a little in this fight, Healy has fought the likes of Jamie Moore in recent times, the Belfast man will be a tough test for the Londoner. [details]

Healy has fought quite a few decent/good domestic fighters, but he's lost to them all inside the distance.
Antony Small, Mathew Hall, Andy Lee, Jamie Moore all beat him in 4 rounds or less.

A good opponent for only your 3rd fight, experianced but beatable.

I want degale to do well, I dont want anyone to beat him until they let Darren Sutherland at him in a year or 2.
No point in wasting that fight in anything less than a 10 rounder. In an ideal world they'd fight each other for a euro or world title in 2 years time, both unbeaten until then. Then Daz KOs him.

Of course he is Frank, I guess we'll find out in 5 years time when he fights someone with a live pulse. Anyone who really wants to become the future of British Boxing needs to get away from (the massively unpopular and rightly so) Frank Warren.
