Teddy Atlas said on ESPN that Povetkin is coming to the US to train with him and will take a warm-up fight in September.
I don't think Wlad wants to wait around until Povetkin's ready in December or January 2010. So he will likely fight someone else...
I think the logical choice is Eddie Chambers, his WBO mandatory.
But will HBO make it complicated? Will they want to show some fight no one wants to watch instead, and tell Wlad to wait for Povetkin?
If they do, he should forget about them and move on, since even without HBO he'll still make about $12,000,000 and Eddie would make a few million (his biggest payday ever).
