Floyd would have schooled prince though but there was no chance in hell of him making 126. Whether you agree with it or not, Prince was the bigger name at the time, bigger draw than anyone below 135, and had alot of options. He could pick and choose especially with guys like Barrera, Morales, Tapia, Ayala and a few others moving up willing to face him. Barrera, Morales and Tapia would have all been bigger fights for him at the time compared to mayweather due to their fan base at the time and the wars they had leading up to the fight. That may anger some floyd fans but I was a fan of floyd back then and he wasnt the draw he was until he beat oscar several years later. Barrera and Morales had huge buzzes due to their epic 1st fight so fans knew a fight with Naz would have been exciting.

So Naz really didnt duck Floyd its just he held all the cards and went after what he felt were the bigger fights.
Oh shush, NAZ was a ch*ken ****, NAZ and his peeps weren't ****** enough to throw him in with a shark.

They obviously under estimated MAB. But, Floyd is a whole different animal.

Naseem got schooled by Barrera, I'm pretty sure Floyd would have done the same, especially at that time when he was at his best.

After Mayweather beat Castillo. Mayweather was pretty excited calling out Prince Naz, since it would be a big pay day when Mayweather wasn't a star. The old **** Merchant pretty much cancelled the fight before it even happened. Floyd was willingly to move down to fight to fight Naz.

Also Floyd did call out Fretias and Casa.
Hbo didn't want pbf/naz because they wanted naz vs morales / mab.

At that time pbf was not a big name and pbf/naz would not make more money than naz vs the mexicans. Also pbf would've ruined naz worst than mab.

This is the Truth. this was post Barrera/Morales 1 and 2 if Im not mistaken. People were calling this one of the greatest fights ever. Since it was so close both had Huge buzzes following them and were the bigger fights at the time.

PBF would have schooled him though but It really wasnt that much of a duck because Hamed had so many fighters chasing him at the time. When your in that position you can call the shots. He wanted Floyd 126 or he was gonna go with his other options. Princes options at the time

          Morales Fight (huge)

          Barrera fight (Huge)

          Tapia (huge)

          Marquez (decent but dangerous fight)

Ayala (good fight esp after him comming off his epic wars w/tapia)

Norwood (IBF belt holder at the time)

Julio Pablo Chacon (padded record fighter that HBO could hype up)

Enrique Sanchez (another decent fighter out there)

Manny Paquiao (would have been a very exciting fight esp since at the time Pac was know for his aggressive brawling style

Ledwaba (good belt holder at 122 at the time)

Derrick Gainer (hottest prospect at 126 and dubbed the next star of the division)

Koko Kovacs (Prince wanted his vacanted belt back)

Nana Konadu (for some reason HBO was trying to push for this fight)

there were a few other but these were the main ones. Prince was the man at the lower divisions at the time and was the shot caller. Plus since prince is only 5'4" I cant see him fighting at 130 anyway.
